Maison Petit Biscuit was originally built as a shotgun double in 1898 on the famed Magazine Street in Uptown New Orleans. After Hurricane Katrina, the property was sold and remodeled into a three-condo unit. They were able to keep many original features like the antique pine floors, brick fireplaces and high ceilings, however, all of the windows were removed and the ceiling was covered with track lighting and large light cans. We began with a local architect to layout our rooms and the original contractor from the 2006 remodel who happened to have all of the original windows. We returned them to their rightful places, designed the custom-built kitchen, two bathrooms and bedroom. We combined budget-friendly and higher-end finishes, added crown molding, new lighting and a clawfoot tub at the foot of the bed to complete the transformation from gallery/shop to home.
